Six killed, 10 injured in brick kiln blast in Bihar’s East Champaran district | Patna News

PATNA: At least six people were killed and 10 others injured on Friday evening after a deadly blast occurred in a brick kiln at Narirgir village under Ramgarhwa police station area in Bihar’s East Champaran district.
The brick kiln owner, Mohammad Irshad, was also killed in the blast, additional director general of police (headquarters) Jitendra Singh Gangwar told TOI on Friday late night while confirming six deaths.
Chief minister Nitish Kumar expressed deep grief over the incident and asked the district administration to make all necessary arrangements for proper treatment of the injured persons.
“Soon after getting information about the blast, a police team, led by the additional SP, Raxaul, and the SHO, Ramgarhwa, rushed to the spot, which is around 4km in the north-east direction from the police station. All injured persons were immediately rushed to the nearby hospitals by the police team,” Gangwar said.
However, six of them died either on the way to hospital or soon after reaching the hospital.
Of the remaining 10 injured persons, seven are admitted at the SRP hospital, Raxaul, while the other three are admitted at the local primary health centre (PHC).
“A police team is still camping at the place of occurrence to help people and a rescue operation is going on,” Gangwar said.
Later, the DM and SP of East Champaran also visited the place of occurrence and took stock of the situation.
