We will not interfere, India-Pakistan should avoid tension: America

The US encourages India and Pakistan to avoid tension and find solutions through dialogue. US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said this during the weekly press briefing on Tuesday. Biden administration is concerned about the comments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh On this Miller said, as I said earlier also that America is not going to get entangled in this matter. But we encourage both India and Pakistan to avoid tensions and find solutions through dialogue.

Miller said he would never preview sanctions action. Asked why the US has not imposed any sanctions on India over the alleged plot to kill Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, Miller said, I would never preview any sanctions action. Which does not mean that there is going to be any ban. But when you ask me to talk about sanctions, it is something that we do not discuss openly.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannu has been declared a terrorist by the Government of India. He has been spewing venom against India time and again. America considers him its citizen. According to the US Justice Department, an Indian citizen, Nikhil Gupta, has been charged with Pannu’s murder. The Justice Department had previously claimed that an Indian government employee had selected Gupta to murder Pannu. But American officials foiled the plot. Last year, India formed a committee to investigate allegations of conspiracy to murder.

PM Modi had said on April 11 that during the ten years of BJP government’s rule at the Centre, terrorists are being killed in their own homes. While addressing a public rally in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, he had mentioned the major decisions taken in his government. During this, he had emphasized that Article 370 was abrogated from Jammu and Kashmir during the NDA rule.

He had further said, today there is a strong government in the country. In this strong Modi government, terrorists are killed by entering their homes. The Indian tricolor has become a guarantee of security even in the war zone. After seven decades, Article 370 was abolished from Jammu and Kashmir, a law has been made against triple talaq. It was our strong government that ensured 33 percent reservation in Parliament and the poor from the general category also got 10 percent reservation.
