Why One Nation-One Election bill is a proposal aimed at synchronizing elections for the Lok Sabha (India’s lower house of Parliament) The Indian Parliament is currently addressing two significant matters. And state legislative assemblies to occur simultaneously.

One Nation, One Election Bill:

Today Lok Sabha In Constitution One Hundred and Twenty-Ninth Amendment Bill, 2024, commonly known as the “One Nation, One Election” Bill, is scheduled for introduction in the Lok Sabha today. This bill proposes simultaneous elections for the Lok Sabha, state assemblies, and local bodies, aiming to reduce the frequency and cost of elections. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal is expected to present the bill, which may subsequently be referred to a Joint Committee of Parliament for further deliberation.
