Man Held On Charge Of Killing Sister-in-law | Aurangabad News

Aurangabad: The Vaijapur police have arrested a 38-year-old man on the charges of murdering his sister-in-law and later dumping her body in the sewage tank situated in the backyard of the house.
The woman identified as Maya Aglawe, 28, of Shiur village was found dead on Monday morning. The autopsy revealed that she was strangulated to death. Based on the complaint lodged by her parents, her husband and mother-in-law were arrested on murder charge.
Additional superintendent of police Sunil Lanjewar said during the course of the investigation, they learnt that the woman was allegedly having an extra-marital affair with the suspect. The police were also not fully convinced about the involvement of the husband and mother-in-law in the murder. The police team called the suspect, Dnyaneshwar Aglawe, for questioning. “He not only started evading questions but also started giving misleading and contradictory answers. He later confessed to have killed the woman,” said the officer.
The police claimed that Dnyaneshwar had an extra-marital affair with the deceased for the past four months. “Late on Sunday night, the deceased started pestering him for Rs 20,000 and threatened to expose him if the amount was not paid. To get rid of her financial harassment, he strangulated her to death,” said the officer.
Vaijapur police are now preparing a report about the woman’s husband and mother-in-law being innocent that will be submitted in the court.
