Tata to launch Nexon EV on May 11

Tata will launch its new Nexon EV, which will cost INR 3-4 lakh extra from its previous model. Currently, its price is INR 14.54 to 17.15 lakh. After the launch, it will compete with its rivals like Hyundai Kona electric and MG ZS EV.

Tata has tested the long-range Nexon EV multiple times and has decided to launch it on May 11. The R&D team of the company is rigorously working to increase the range of its EVs. On Friday, it displayed the concept of the new Avinya electric.

Interior

The long-range Tata Nexon EV is similar to its existing model in terms of interiors except for the upholstery. It has a touchscreen infotainment panel of 7 inches in the cabin. Additional features in the car cabin include automatic AC, a single-pane sunroof, and a semi-digital instrument package. Also, there will be ventilation in the front seats, an air purifier, and an auto-dimming IRVM.

Exterior

The exterior design of Nexon EV will run ahead of its previous model. The latest version will have many different features. It will have rear disc brakes, new alloy wheels, and more. Apart from these changes, its exterior will remain the same as the existing Nexon EV.

More Safety Features

The new range of Tata Nexon EV will have some new and exciting safety features. It may include Electron stability, cruise control, and park and control mode.

New Battery

The company is likely to provide a larger than the earlier battery of 40kWh. It will come along with an electric motor, and together they will generate the maximum power of 136 PS. The existing model comes with a 30.2 kWh battery. Its electric motor produces a peak torque of 245 Nm and a power output of 129 PS. Once charged, the current version can run 312 km. While the new range will go up to 400km as certified by ARAI.

Rivals and Expected Price

The price of the new range may increase by INR 3 to 4 lakh. Presently, the Nexon EV comes at INR 14.54 lakh to INR 17.15 lakh. Its rivals on the road are Hyundai Kona and MG ZS.
