Symptoms of Anemia and some diet tips to cure it


A person suffers from anemia when the RBC count and hemoglobin level reach below normal in his body. Anemic patients should consume iron-rich foods.

Anemia simply means the lower amount of blood in the body. It usually affects women more than men. A lack of red blood cells in the body makes you feel tired and may lead to numerous other health issues. People suffer from this disease when they do not consume a healthy diet.

Red blood cells transport oxygen all through the body. These cells consist of hemoglobin which is an iron-rich protein. There are various symptoms of anemia. Some of them include:

  • Facing difficulty in concentrating
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Lack of stamina in the body
  • Hair fall
  • Chest pain
  • Headache
  • Feeling dizzy
  • Weakness
  • Cold hands and feet
  • Pale skin
  • Feeling tired

Anemic patients should eat foods containing iron. Examples are cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, kale, spinach, banana, legumes, pomegranate, sweet potato, beet, apples, strawberries, etc.

Tips to cure anemia

Juice of green vegetables can help cure anemia. To prepare it, you have to take kale, spinach, and other iron-rich vegetables. Clean them thoroughly, put them in a juicer, blend them and sieve out the juice in a glass.

You can add lemon, juice, honey, and a pinch of salt in it, to make it tastier. Vegetables like spinach, broccoli, asparagus, and kale are rich sources of iron. You should take this juice regularly.

Drink beet juice

Drinking beet juice can overcome the issue of anemia. You can easily prepare it at home. Peel the beet and cut it into pieces. Put them in a juicer and blend completely. Sieve the juice in your glass and add lemon juice and rock salt. Beetroot enhances the production of hemoglobin and red blood cells. If you are anemic, then you should drink beet juice every day.

Eat raisins and dates


Eat 10 to 12 raisins and two to three dates every morning in your breakfast. Dates and raisins fulfill the requirement of iron and increase red blood cells in your body.

Eat gram and jaggery


People have eaten gram and jaggery for years. They provide sufficient iron to your body. You can soak grams in water along with some jaggery. Eat it in the morning for your breakfast. Both the foods have iron content in abundance.

Jiggery is also good for digestion, so you can take it after having your daily meals.
