Lucknow Super Giants Beat Punjab Kings by 20 runs, Dhawan’s efforts in vain: IPL 2022

 

Lucknow Super Giants beat Punjab Kings by 20 runs by restricting them under 133 runs. Their victory helped LSG reach the third position on the table.

Lucknow Super Giants under the leadership of KL Rahul, made 153 runs in 20 overs, at 8 wickets loss. The team struggled a lot to restrict PBKS below 133 runs. Their hard work helped them win the match by 20 runs.

However, Rishi Dhawan from the team of Punjab Kings hit hard, giving some hope to the fans. But, he lacked support and could not lead the team to victory. With the team’s loss, Rishi Dhawan’s hard work goes in vain.

After winning this game, LSG reached the third position in the leaders’ tally. This win will further boost their morale to play hard and qualify for the upcoming playoffs in IPL 2022.

So, the team Lucknow wins by 20 runs in match 42 and grabs two more points in the competition.

The man of the match was Krunal Pandya as he took two wickets and gave only 11 runs. Dushmantha Chameera and Mohsin Khan got two and three wickets respectively.

In the beginning, Mayank Agarwal, the skipper of Punjab Kings, won the toss and decided to field. Right from the start, LSG had a good start. Though, the skipper KL Agarwal went back to the pavilion early.

Deepak Hooda scored 34 runs out of 28 balls, and Quinton de Kock made 46 of 37. Both of them presented a brilliant partnership of 80 runs. But after the wicket of de Kock, the batting performance of their team declined, and it began losing wickets. However, because of an exceptional playoff by the tail-enders, LSG managed to create a score of 153 runs.

Despite getting an average target, Punjab Kings could not succeed. LSG was able to stop the opponents before achieving the required runs. JohnyBairstow became the top scorer of his team PBSK, hitting 32 runs out of 28 balls.
