The multi-racial Singapore banned it, according to the PTI report. This report suggests that the movie was beyond the film classification guidelines of the city-state.

The Infocomm Media Development Authority, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ministry of Community, Culture, and Youth gave a joint statement. They stated that this Hindi film is beyond the classification guidelines of Singapore.

The authority told the media that they had refused the movie for its one-sided and provocative portrayal. It depicted the persecution of Hindus in a conflict in the valley. These depictions can potentially disrupt the harmony among different communities. The administration feared interruption in the social cohesion in the state’s multi-religious and multi-racial society.

According to the officials, they cannot allow any material that disturbs the religious harmony in Singapore.

Pallavi Joshi, Puneet Issar, ChinmayMandlekar, DarshanKumaar, Mithun Chakraborty, and AnupamKher acted in the film.

The writer and director of the movie were VivekAgnihotri. The Kashmir Files hit the box office on March 11 this year. It turned out to be a huge success and became the first Bollywood movie to cross Rs250 crore post-pandemic.

The BJP government made the picture tax-free in various states. All the BJP-led states such as Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Goa, Tripura, and Uttar Pradesh made this move. However, this step sparked a controversy in the nation. Now, the public can watch this film on the OTT platform as it is accessible on ZEE5.
