The loudspeaker conflict reaches Karnataka: Hindu activists played Hanuman Chalisa at the time of Azaan.

On Monday, the Hindu activists played Hanuman Chalisa at the time of Azaan in the morning. Following the incident, the Police forces across the Karnataka state are on high alert.

PramodMuthalik, the founder of Sri Ram Sena, inaugurated a program at 5 a.m. in a temple in Mysuru. He said that the authorities of more than 1000 temples played morning prayers and Hanuman Chalisa against the Azaan.

The police have arrested all the activists planning to play Hanuman Chalisa in a temple in Bengaluru. The administration has increased the state’s security as it could lead to communal violence. Muthalik declared that the activists would continue this prayer campaign in the temples in the future also. He questioned the helplessness of the government over not taking any steps against Azaan. He added that it is against the law and constitution.

Students and patients face problems because of early morning prayers in mosques. He alleged the opposition party Congress for making the Muslims feel above the law. He claimed that there should be equality before the law, and it should be upheld.

Hindu activists started raising slogans and chanting prayers at 5 a.m. They called out Jai Sri Ram, Bharat Mata Ki Jai, and Jai Hanuman across the state. The campaign ended at 6 a.m.

The social unrest in Karnataka was slowly coming to an end. The state saw various issues like Hubballi violence, the murder of a Bajrang Dal activist, and the Hijab crisis. Now, again the situation is getting tense.

Initially, the loudspeaker controversy started in Maharashtra. Raj Thackeray, the MNS leader, requested the state government to ban loudspeakers atop mosques. He asked his party workers to chant Hanuman Chalisa outside the mosques if the authorities fail to remove the loudspeakers.
