On April 24, Emanuel Macron got re-elected for another five-year term. He won the elections beating his far-right competitor Marine Le Pen. The ceremony took place at the Elysee presidential palace on Saturday.
More than 500 guests made an appearance at the ceremony. The president of the Constitutional Council declared the results of the elections in front of all of them.
Mr. Macron will receive the Grand Master’s necklace of the Legion of Honor. It is the highest award in France. After being honored, he will also give a speech.
After the speech, he will head toward the gardens of the palace. Here, he will get the honor of 21 cannon shots. The commanders will fire these shots from the Invalides plaza to commemorate the event. Everything will go by the French traditions.
The French President will then interact with the military troops at the ceremony. These troops will have some members of the Monge crew. Monge is the second largest ship in the French navy and the key to the country’s nuclear deterrent. This ship was also used to test the nuclear-capable submarine of France that launched M51 missiles.
It works as a symbol of force when France makes efforts to deter Russia from attacking Ukraine. It even carried heavy weapons and cannon-loaded trucks to support Ukraine in the ongoing war.
