An 5.1 earthquake measuring on the Richter scale struck the Bay of Bengal at 6:10 AM IST today, with a focal depth of 91 kilometers. Tremors were felt in Kolkata, Puri, and various parts of West Bengal and Odisha.

The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was located approximately 421 km east of Puri and 409 km south-southeast of Kolkata.

Despite the widespread tremors, there have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties in the affected regions.
